Ascot Racecourse has been trialling mobile solutions as part of a technology review within the business this year. The F&B solution combines Kappture’s POS with payment software from Payworks & Bambora Connect in one small, all-in-one Android device, giving customers at Ascot the ability to pay with card in a fully mobile environment. One added feature is high value contactless transactions to support the likes of Apple and Google Pay. Ascot’s food, beverage and betting terminals are now completely mobile, helping to cut queue times and serve customers wherever they are. In the case of betting terminals, the ability for customers to make bets away from fixed betting stations using an Android payment terminal to accept card payments is a world first. Following the successful pilot scheme, Ascot plans to roll out up to a further 100 devices during the current race season.
